A typical badge workflow may follow:

  1. Enable NFC in your phone's settings
  2. Refresh and reset (actions) this page
  3. Click Toggle to see the left menu
  4. Click Configure to enable the platform
  5. Click Onboard to begin provisioning
  6. Click Read Data to test the badge
  7. Type a name and click Associate to overwrite data storage with a profile

  • This combination is the most useful method of using your badge today
  • When using NFCTools remember to press a badge button to transmit

Configure Device

Unfortunately, to use a phone with NFC powered websites like this one, you need to configure its browser first.

Enter chrome://flags/ in the browser URL bar to enable the Experimental Platform.

Info: These directions work for the Chrome browser. Vendors like Apple and Mozilla decided to prevent you from ever using WebNFC, unless you try Chrome.

Early as Defcon 28 was turning on the safe mode, several Defcon village members had the idea of a collaborative intervillage project to offer visitors a virtual method of exploration in a hybrid hardware software village system.
